With the prices of fuel climbing every day, we’re all thinking of how to save costs when driving in Singapore.
One way is to hop across the border and get fuel at an affordable rate but it may not be a viable long term solution. Getting stuck along the causeway frequently doesn’t sound too good.
The new way to save on fuel would be to drive an Electric Vehicle. As we see an increasing number of electric vehicles on the road, it poses an important question “How much can we save by switching to an EV?”
Petrol currently costs $3.25/L and Diesel costs $3.05/L while electricity only costs $0.5/kWH. At an estimated mileage of 15,000km per year, you would save more than $900 by switching to an EV. Multiply that by 10 years and you would have saved more than $9000.
Furthermore, an EV has lower maintenance costs than both petrol & diesel vehicles while being the most environmentally friendly.
Undoubtedly, the future of the automobile is electric.
